We take the privacy of our users very seriously. We try to keep all your data safe and secure and we never sell your data, neither your email address, nor any information on how you use Yess. Nevertheless, we do collect certain information – as described below – and when you start using Yess, you agree to our collection, transfer, processing, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
When signing up for the service on the Yess website, we ask you to provide your email address. For users who choose to sign in with Google Sign-In, we collect your email address and name as provided by Google. We may collect information about how and when you use Yess, which can include your IP address, time, date, browser used, and the actions you take within the application.
If you choose to integrate your Google services with Yess, we will access certain information to provide the corresponding features. For Google Calendar integration, we access and store information such as event titles, dates, times, and attendees. Similarly, if you choose to integrate your Gmail account, we will access your email data to enable features like viewing your inbox, reading emails, and sending replies. This secure connection is managed through our service provider, Nylas, using the standard OAuth 2.0 protocol. The Gmail information we access and may store includes email metadata (like sender, recipients, and subject), the body content of your emails, and attachments.
Use of Information Collected
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
To provide the service you requested: Information from integrated services like Google Calendar or Gmail is used exclusively to power the features you enable. This includes displaying your calendar events, showing your email inbox, viewing email content, and allowing you to reply to or forward emails directly within Yess.
To improve our website: We continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you.
To improve customer service: Your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We will not use your Google data for serving advertisements, nor will we allow humans to read your data unless we have your explicit consent for specific messages, for security purposes like investigating abuse, or to comply with applicable law.
Sharing, Transfer, or Disclosure of Google User Data
We are committed to protecting your Google User Data and do not sell it to third parties. We only share or disclose this data in the following limited circumstances:
With Service Providers to Enable Features: To provide our Gmail integration, we use Nylas as a service provider to securely connect your Gmail account to Yess. Your email data is shared with Nylas only for the purpose of enabling you to view, manage, and send emails within our application. For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process.
Access to your Google User Data is also strictly limited to authorized personnel within Yess for the purposes of providing and improving our services, and for customer support.
Retention of Google User Data
We retain Google Sign-In data (email address and name), Google Calendar data (including event titles, dates, times, and attendees), and Gmail data (including email metadata, content, and attachments) for a period of one year from the date of collection. After one year, this data will be automatically and securely deleted from our systems through a soft deletion process.
Deletion of Google User Data
You have the right to request deletion of your Google User Data at any time. Upon receiving a verified deletion request, we will promptly initiate the process to delete your Google User Data from our systems. This deletion will also be carried out through a soft deletion process.
GDPR
The EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) take effect from May 25, and we're happy to comply with this. If data collection is not integral to the way Yess works, then we won’t collect it.
Yess uses administrative and electronic measures designed to appropriately protect your Personal Information against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, unauthorized alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, misuse, and any other unlawful form of processing of the Personal Information in our possession. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot guarantee that information about you will not be accessed, viewed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our administrative, physical, and electronic safeguards, subject to requirements under applicable law to ensure or warrant information security.
We will make any legally-required disclosures of any breach of the security, confidentiality, or integrity of your unencrypted electronically stored Personal Information to you via email or conspicuous posting on our Site in the most expedient time possible.
At any time, you may request your information to be exported and sent to you for review, and we promptly honor any requests by you to have your information deleted and forgotten.
Security
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you submit a request. Nevertheless, nobody is 100% safe from hackers. In the case of any security breach in our databases we will notify you as soon as possible and will also inform you about the actions taken by us in response.
